An extensive extended cruise around Australia has been cancelled days after the tragic passing of an older woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been trekking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a pause. The ship departed without her and came back later that day after the personnel discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

A major rescue mission located her remains the following day.

Officials are investigating the tragedy, together with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer said that passengers and staff on the vessel were notified that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "unfortunate death and previous engine troubles".

In a statement, he further stated that travelers would be given a complete reimbursement, and said the organization was working "to arrange the homeward trips of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Regulatory bodies also published an updated statement, and said they had "delivered a order to the Master" preventing any additional guests from getting on the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would visit the ship in the port city upon its coming back.

The liner first departed the Australian port on the 24th of October, and was only 48 hours into the journey at the time of the elderly woman's demise. The tropical location was the first stop on the voyage.

The daughter of the victim said that her relatives was "shocked and saddened that the vessel left the island after an planned tour without my mother".

In her statement, she characterized her mum as an "active elderly person" who was a participant of a hiking club.

"From the little facts we have been provided, it seems that there was a breakdown of attention and ordinary reasoning," she mentioned.

She further stated that she hoped the examination would be able to identify what "the organization should have performed that might have preserved Mum's existence".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm afternoon, and mother took sick on the mountain ascent," she stated.
